Urban’s completed a full interior build-out for Watson’s of Utica, providing a comprehensive scope of construction services from demolition through final finishes to deliver a modern, functional, and visually appealing commercial space. The project included selective demolition, new construction, mechanical systems installation, interior finishes, and all necessary building systems coordination to support the client’s operational needs.

The project began with selective demolition of existing interior walls, ceilings, flooring, fixtures, and any outdated mechanical, electrical, or plumbing components. Urban’s carefully removed all materials while protecting remaining structures and adjacent areas, ensuring a clean and safe work environment. Site preparation included removal of debris and preparation for the installation of new construction elements.

Following demolition, Urban’s completed new construction work including metal stud framing and drywall installation to create offices, workspaces, retail areas, and support rooms as specified in the design plans. Framing and drywall were finished to provide smooth, clean surfaces ready for paint and other interior finishes. Wall and ceiling assemblies were coordinated with HVAC, electrical, and sprinkler systems to ensure proper integration of building systems.

Mechanical and electrical work was a key component of the build-out. HVAC systems were installed and connected to provide proper air distribution, ventilation, and climate control throughout the facility. Electrical systems were roughed in and completed, including power distribution, lighting, receptacles, and coordination with equipment and fixtures. Sprinkler systems were installed and relocated as necessary to meet life safety and fire protection code requirements. All mechanical, electrical, and sprinkler work was installed to meet local building codes, ensuring both functionality and safety.

Interior finishes included painting throughout the facility to provide a polished and cohesive appearance. Flooring installation included resilient and durable materials suitable for retail and office traffic, with careful attention to transitions and subfloor preparation. Additional details, including trim and base moldings, were installed to enhance the finished appearance.

Throughout the project, Urban’s coordinated closely with the design team, building management, and subcontractors to ensure that all phases of construction were completed efficiently and on schedule. Quality control measures were maintained at every step to meet the client’s expectations for both performance and aesthetics.

The completed build-out for Watson’s of Utica delivered a fully functional, code-compliant, and visually appealing commercial space. Urban’s integration of demolition, new construction, mechanical systems, and interior finishes provided the client with a modern facility that supports operations, improves workflow, and enhances the overall customer and employee experience.
